インド北東部アッサム州出身。出身地で気候変動の現実を目の当たりにし、変化をもたらしたいと考え、環境科学を学ぶため2017年に来日。筑波大学で気候変動、森林生態学、生物多様性を専攻し、生物学の学士号(2021年)と修士号(2023年)を取得。林業会社で森林プランナーとして持続可能な森林管理を経験した後、2024年にClimate Integrateに参加。気候変動と生物多様性の損失は相互に関連する危機だという信念に基づき業務に携わっている。

Ragini Sarmah

Researcher

Ragini hails from Assam, North-East India, where she has witnessed the harsh realities of climate change. Driven by a desire to make a difference, she moved to Japan to study Environmental Science in 2017. She earned her undergraduate (2021) and post-graduate (2023) degree in biology, focusing on climate change, forest ecology and biodiversity, from the University of Tsukuba. Following her studies, Ragini worked as a forest planner with a Japanese forestry company, where she gained valuable experience in sustainable forest management.
Shejoined the Climate Integrate team as a researcher in 2024. Her work is grounded in the belief that climate change and biodiversity loss are interconnected crises that must be addressed together for a sustainable future.
