Announcing the Launch of Climate Integrate
We are pleased to announce the launch of Climate Integrate, an independent climate policy think tank based in Japan.
Around the world and in Japan, efforts are underway to prevent climate change by limiting the rise in global temperatures to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels and achieving "carbon neutrality"—net-zero greenhouse gas emissions—by 2050.
Climate Integrate works to accelerate decarbonization efforts across the civil society, government, and business sectors, with the aim of realizing a just, sustainable, and peaceful society. In particular, we are committed to ensuring Japan's transition to decarbonization and, in turn, building a society that supports people's well-being.
The name "Climate Integrate" reflects our belief that addressing climate change requires integrating a wide range of policy issues, as well as an integrated approach that connects science, policy, and society. It embodies our commitment to engaging in dialogue with diverse actors, supporting decarbonization efforts, and helping drive solutions. Our logo, with colors evoking greenery, land, and sea, symbolizes our integrated approach to protecting the planet.

Our Work
Focusing on policy change and action through 2030, we conduct research and analysis, engagement, and communication in the following areas, and provide the knowledge and information needed to advance decarbonization.
Climate Policy
Steady reductions in greenhouse gas emissions require laws and policy measures across all sectors to be introduced, strengthened, reviewed, and continually updated.
To remove various barriers and drive stronger measures, we analyze existing frameworks and recommend actions to drive the transition.
Diplomacy
Climate change is a global challenge. Countries need to show leadership and work together.
We work with organizations in Japan and abroad to promote dialogue and advice, to help advance government effort on climate change.
Governance
Climate action spans international, national, and regional levels, and involves a wide range of actors. This makes it essential to practice inclusive, multi-layered governance that fosters participation and dialogue.
Taking a backcasting perspective toward the 2050 carbon neutrality goal, we support the development of frameworks that are objective, transparent, and flexible.
Sustainable Finance
Promoting ESG investment by financial institutions and institutional investors is essential for advancing corporate decarbonization and achieving the transition to a sustainable economy.
We collaborate, engage in dialogue, and undertake projects with stakeholders in the financial sector to promote the decarbonization of the economy.
Communication
Information on climate change is constantly being updated, and there are differing views and disagreements over how to address it. This can make it difficult to determine what information matters most or where to start.
We provide accurate information and insights from around the world on science, policy, technology, costs, environmental impacts, and other areas relevant to advancing decarbonization.
