Goro Komatsu (Komatsu Goro) ▷▷Materials
POW JAPAN Representative, Professional Snowboarder, Chairman of the Terrain Research Association
Born and raised in Hokkaido, he moved to British Columbia, Canada at age 12. In 2005, he returned to Japan with the birth of his child, and has built his life around winter and snow, having settled at the foot of the Kashimayari Ski Resort in Omachi City, Nagano Prefecture. While living in Canada, an encounter with Indigenous people protesting the construction of a new ski resort led him to reconsider the relationship between snowboarding and nature, and he came to believe that the way we interact with and use nature needs to change. Even before POW was founded, he continued to advocate for reducing impacts on the natural environment.

Nao Yoshizawa (Yoshizawa Nao)

29 years old and was raised in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture. Specializes in tourism geography, particularly in ski resort regions. He is scheduled to earn a doctorate in geography next March for research on the internationalization of Japanese ski resorts.
